Hello, my name is Harriet Cornish

I work with individuals who would like to discuss the diagnosis of high-functioning autism, (HFA) or a family member who is wondering if their child or partner could be autistic.

My journey, alongside autism spectrum disorder (ASD), began in 2012 when my son was diagnosed with Aspergers at the age of 10. After he received the diagnosis, I read everything I could and used that knowledge to work with SENCO so that he could feel happy, secure and safe at school, on holidays, in public places and at family gatherings.

My son is now 21 and in his final year at university. He has friends, is working hard and is happy.

In 2021 an opportunity arose to be an Emotional Support Worker, online, for a charity specialising in neurodiversity and I realised that this was an area in which I could really provide support.

If you are autistic, in an autistic family or have autistic friends, I can help you.

What my clients have to say

I gained greater self-acceptance

I had sessions with Hattie over a long period, initially going to her when I was in crisis and really felt stuck. Hattie was always supportive, positive, and non-judgemental. She helped me work through my crisis period and to make ongoing positive changes in my life. In this process, I also gained greater self-acceptance of my autism diagnosis. Hattie is super easy to talk to and I am grateful she was there to support me through a really difficult patch in my life – which is now a lot better. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending her. She is very giving, understanding, and effective, and however stuck you feel I am sure she can support you through it.

Client R

Speak to someone who truly understands

Hattie was very generous with her time and advice. It was so helpful speaking with someone who truly understands. She helped point me in the right direction; I really am so grateful for the support and guidance provided.

Client S

Allowed me to be myself

Hattie really listened and could identify with all my experiences and helped me make sense of the difficulties of the previous years. She is such a warm and empathetic person and allowed me to be myself and talk about whatever I needed to at any particular session. I am so grateful for Hattie’s support and friendship which got me through some difficult times.
